- Prepare your skin and soap
- Wet your hands or the area to be washed with warm (not hot) water to open pores and soften the skin
- If using a washcloth, loofah, or sponge, wet it along with the soap bar
- Create a rich lather
- Rub the bar between your wet hands or on a washcloth for at least 20 seconds, using circular motions
- Gradually add small amounts of water to help emulsify the soap and create a creamy, voluminous lather
- Avoid vigorous scrubbing to prevent skin irritation
- FOR HANDS: For hands, scrub all surfaces, including between fingers and under nails
- FOR BODY: For body or face (if formulated for it), massage the lather in gently, using fingertips for face to avoid the eyes
